Typical configuration of the drive test for 2G, 3G and 4G used to include PC, mobile phones and GPS. You might have connected scanner on top of the basic configuration. However, you may feel uncomfortable in installing the heavy system in the test vehicle or especially for indoor measurement campaign.

So, smartphone based tools are there for you?

There are a few smartphone based drive test tools in the market including XCAL-Mobile from Accuver. But if you require voice quality (MOS) measurement taken from the audio jack of the phone (not through s/w based emulator processed), you will find it difficult to find any solution except XCAL-Solo.
