New Atoll Live Module Combines Live-Network Data and Predictions

Forsk announces the new Atoll Live module, which will be demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress from 2nd to 5th March in Barcelona, Spain.

The Atoll 3.3 Live module enables to combine live network data such as KPIs and UE/MDT (minimisation of drive tests) traces with predictions, and breaks the traditional barrier between prediction-based and measurement-based planning and optimisation.
By combining live network data and predictions, Atoll provides operators with an extended accuracy and scope of use, ultimately delivering “Augmented Planning and Optimisation”.

Aug. 13, 2014 - Atoll Used by 50+ Mobile Operators in Europe

Aug. 13, 2014

Forsk announces that 51 mobile operators in the European Union are currently using Atoll as their radio planning & optimisation platform. Out of these, 25 have replaced their previous radio planning and optimisation software with Atoll since the introduction of LTE in Europe in 2009.

Forsk’s market share in Europe now exceeds 50%, twice that of Forsk’s following competitor, on a market where a number of operators still use in-house radio planning and optimisation tools.

PCTEL Launches SeeWave at MWC

PCTEL, Inc., a leader in simplifying wireless and site solutions for private and public networks, announced the launch of SeeWave™, an interference detection and location system, at Mobile World Congress today. Interference severely impacts network performance. On 4G LTE network deployments, the effects of interference may include significantly reduced data throughput rates and Quality of Service. SeeWave streamlines the expensive and time consuming task of detecting and locating interfering signals, a crucial step in restoring network performance. SeeWave uses advanced spectrum analysis and proprietary algorithms to identify interference and locate its source.

SeeWave utilizes PCTEL's leading edge SeeGull® scanning receiver. A host platform links the scanner to both a direction-finding antenna and a touchscreen tablet. The platform can be held comfortably in one hand while the user operates SeeWave's intuitive software application. Scanning receiver, platform, antenna, and tablet combine to create an economical, easy-to-use, and highly effective interference hunting system. SeeWave capabilities can be layered onto deployed EX and MX scanning receivers. A custom, purpose built PCTEL antenna enables accurate interference location.
